A recent study by the American College of Sports Medicine shows that practicing mindfulness can help you achieve better results when you exercise. The study shows that when you take the time to focus on the present, you are better able to zero in on the task at hand and crush boredom.

“When you don’t stop to relax and meditate, your muscles are building tension and fatigue, draining energy from you that you could be using toward productivity,” says Dr. White.
